Milijardieriai aukoja pusę savo turto
Karščiausia savaitės naujiena filantropijos srityje yra turtingiausių JAV žmonių prisijungimas prie B.Gateso ir W. Buffetto iniciatyvos skirti pusę savo kapitalo labdarai ir paramai.
Remiantis BNS pranešimu:
"Prieš šios akcijos prisidės televizijos CNN įkūrėjas Tedas Turneris, Niujorko meras Michaelas Bloombergas, vienas iš programinės įrangos gamintojų milžinės "Oracle" įkūrėjų Larry Ellisonas ir Holivudo režisierius George'as Lucasas.
Kampanijos "Duodamas pažadas", apie kurią pirmąkart buvo paskelbta prieš šešias savaites, organizatoriai siekia įtikinti JAV milijardierius skirti labdarai 50 proc. arba daugiau savo turto.
"Šis pažadas yra moralinis įsipareigojimas, o ne teisinis kontraktas", - sakoma trečiadienį projekto tinklalapyje givingpledge.org paskelbtame pranešime.
"Iš tiesų ką tik pradėjome, tačiau jau sulaukėme nuostabaus atsako", - pareiškė investicijų kompanijos "Berkshire Hathaway" vadovas W.Buffettas.
"Duodamo pažado" esmė - prašyti turtingų šeimų surengti svarbius pokalbius apie savo turtą ir kaip jis bus panaudotas", - pridūrė jis."
Gal tokia iniciatyva paskatins ir lietuvių turtuolius daugiau dėmesio skirti labdarai.
